Understanding The Types Of Discount Blinds Available To You
|
Discount blinds are excellent for use in any room. With the help of discount blinds, you can save money while also making a room look more attractive. The reality is that your window treatment selection plays a major role on the décor of your room and will go a long way toward "pulling together" the overall look of the room. There are many different types of discount blinds that you might purchase from a discount vendor. These include: Venetian blinds Miniblinds Microblinds Vertical blinds Holland blinds Woven-wood blinds Pleated shades Honeycomb shades Roman shades Venetian discount blinds are the most basic of the slatted blind design. These blinds are typically made with metal or plastic, though some are made with wooden slats. When made with wood, however, these types of discounted blinds are usually referred to as bamboo blinds or as wood blinds. Miniblinds are similar to Venetian blinds but have very narrow slats. Whereas Venetian blinds are typically made with slats that are about 50 mm wide, miniblinds are usually either 19 mm or 24 mm wide. Microblinds, on the other hand, are even smaller and have slats that are 1 to 2 mm wide. Vertical discount blinds, which are also referred to as track blinds, are different from the other types of slat blinds because the slats are typically made of stiffened fabric, metal, or plastic that hand from just one end on a track. In this way, they hang vertically rather than horizontally. Holland blinds, which are also referred to as roller shades, are a type of window treatment that is pulled down from a rolling mechanism in order to cover the window opening. Woven-wood blinds, on the other hand, are made with slats of natural materials, such as bamboo and wood, that are woven together with some sort of string. With the help of the weave, these discount blinds actually form a solid shade that is also rolled or folded up in order to allow the light to shine through the window. Pleated shades also form a solid surface, though they are made with a pleated fabric rather than natural substances. As with the woven-wood blinds, however, these discount blinds pull up in order to allow the sun to shine through. Honeycomb shades, which are also called cellular shades, are similar to the pleated variety with the exception that they are made with two or more layers that have been joined together. These discount blinds are known for providing a greater amount of insulation than other types of shades. Finally, Roman shades are made from either woven wood or fabric. These discount blinds do not roll up. Rather, the sections fold behind one another when being pulled up. These shades are particularly easy to operate and are well insulated.
